Kirkwood Places Fourth as ICCAC Lands Three Teams in Top 10
PLYMOUTH, Ind. — Four ICCAC teams competed at the 2026 NJCAA Division II Men's Golf National Championship at Swan Lake Golf Resort, with five schools represented. Of the qualified teams, Kirkwood finished the highest in fourth place, DMACC placed seventh, Northeast placed 10th and Iowa Central finished 13th. All four teams represented the ICCAC well, with four All-Americans being named.
Kirkwood tied for fourth place with a score of 33-over par through four rounds, rising two spots on the final day. Two Eagles finished in the top six, earning first-team All-America honors.
Ted Sargeant, the 2026 North Central District Champion, tied for third place at 2-over par, just three strokes from tying for first place. His score of 290 came after four consecutive rounds of 74-70-72-74. He recorded 10 birdies throughout the championship, with his best round coming on the second day, when he had two birdies and finished at par on the other 16 holes.
Isaiah Zoske had a strong performance, tying for sixth place with a score of 292, or 4-over par. Two rounds of 71, or 1-under par, lifted Zoske in the standings, aligning with his 16 total birdies. He had at least three birdies each day of the championship.
On the second team All-American list were DMACC's Noah Moberg and Iowa Central's Francis Lockwood.
Moberg was consistent, with his best round coming on day three. An eagle helped him shoot a 71, or 1-under par, and he finished tied for 11th with a 295, or 7-over par. Lockwood tied for 15th and was incredibly consistent, shooting a 74, or 3-over par, all four days.
DMACC's top golfer was Moberg as the team took seventh. Luke Linde was behind him in a tie for 27th for the Bears at 298, 10-over par. Linde had a strong tournament, with his best round coming on day two, when he shot even par at 72.
Northeast finished 10th, with D'Arcy Whyte posting the team's best performance. Whyte scored a 299, or 11-over par, and tied for 31st. On the final day, Whyte shot a 70, or 2-under par, to move up 30 spots on the individual leaderboard. Luke Bonser was the next-highest Hawk, finishing tied for 44th at 13-over par.
Iowa Central's 13th-place finish was led by Lockwood, with help from his teammates. Eric Zuniga was the next top finisher for the Tritons, tying for 39th with a score of 300, or 12-over par.
Rounding out the top golfers from the ICCAC was Southwestern's Freddie Muggeridge, who earned his second consecutive at-large berth as an individual to the NJCAA National Championship. Muggeridge finished tied for 27th at 298, or 10-over par, shooting a 70, or 2-under par, on the final day to rise 28 spots.
